Creekside FlyFishing Presents

Flyfishing Basics

Welcome to the sport of flyfishing. Flyfishing offers a lifetime of enjoyment while providing one of the most challenging and rewarding outdoor sports the world has to offer. Challenging because it constantly tests our ability to learn and master different techniques. We must first learn how to cast to present the fly to a fish, then learn the basic foods that all manner of fish eat, and finally, how to read the water to know where fish will most likely be found.

The rewards of flyfishing come over a lifetime providing fulfillment, enjoyment and relaxation. Fly fishing is essentially a sport of solitude; the anticipation of a fish rising for a fly cast into a quiet pool, catching a large trout then releasing it back into the wild, or watching the water change colors as it reflects the sunset at the end of an exceptional day.

Getting started is easy. The following information will help you.
